The Baldwin Hills Scenic Outlook will be the site of a very special evening of art, and you will love to be there. The always awesome Academy of Visual and Performing Arts Presents Chimera Film Screening & Live Music on Wednesday, May 23.
AVPA Film teacher Alexis Butler submitted a grant proposal to the ING Foundation for an intradepartmental endeavor and when she was awarded the grant, the Chimera Project was born. Crafting an endevor for art students, dance students, and film students to collaborate on the Chimera Project, the goal to create short films which will then be submitted to Dance Camera West’s 11th Annual Festival focusing on Dance Media. This is an international dance media festival and conference. Dance Camera West has put out a call for new dance media, which includes student submissions. That festival will take place June 2012. This month, Culver City gets the premier offering from the outrageously talented and seriously enthusiastic AVPA. Interdisciplinary ? We got it covered. Mulit-media? To the core. Students ? Artists.
