The League of Women Voters Culver City Unit will hold its monthly meeting at noon on Tuesday May 25 in the Community Room of Culver City Julian Dixon Public Library. Visitors are welcome and parking is free; overflow parking is available at Culver City Adult School.
This month’s program will be an impartial presentation of the five statewide propositions appearing on California’s June 8 Primary ballot. League literature in English and Spanish will be distributed.
Propositions in this election cover taxation, consumer issues, and election law. Because commercial advertising for and against these ballot measures can be very misleading, the League’s presentation of Pros AND Cons provides a unique opportunity to hear both sides and ask pertinent questions.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization
that does not support or oppose any political party or any candidate
for public office. The League’s mission is to encourage informed and
active participation in government.
Judith,
Thanks for posting this notice of next Tuesday’s League meeting.
I hope your readers will not feel that reading my on-line essays on the ballot measures is any kind of substitute for attending the live meeting.
At the meeting, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the measures in more detail with League members and guests.
See you there!
