Chiu Endorses Newell for Congress

David Chiu, President of San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors today endorsed Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney Felton Newell’s campaign for Congress. “We are particularly pleased to have the support of the Supervisor Chiu because he is another leader for a new time, who has reinvigorated San Francisco since his election in 2008,” said Newell. Newell is running to serve California’s 33rd Congressional district.

After graduating from Georgetown University in 1993, Newell worked in former President Bill Clinton’s White House Office of Legislative Affairs. He attended the University of Chicago Law School, where he studied Constitutional Law under President Barack Obama. Currently, Newell is a deputy city attorney with the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office.

The Democratic primary election will be held on June 8, and if you think Crossroads made a whole lotta noise about getting you to the polls in April, we have not even tuned the orchestra for June yet.  California’s 33rd Congressional district encompasses Culver City, the unincorporated neighborhoods of Ladera Heights, View Park and Windsor Hills, and all or portions of the Palms, Mid-Wilshire, Hollywood, Baldwin Hills, Baldwin Village, West Adams, Hancock Park, Koreatown, Echo Park, Silver Lake and Los Feliz neighborhoods in Los Angeles.
