A ribbon cutting ceremony took place on May 22, 2026 to open the latest extension of the MOVE project, closing the gap and strengthening regional mobility. This completes 4.5 miles of continuous biking from Downtown Culver City toward West Adams in South Los Angeles.
The use of the lane for buses and emergency vehicles will be a bonus for transportation, EMT crews, fire and police.
Many Culver City officials were on hand for the ceremony, and Mayor Freddy Puza cut the ribbon with a crowd of transportation enthusiasts who were there to celebrate.
The MOVE Culver City Eastern Segment extends dedicated bus and bike lanes approximately 1,500 feet east to the Washington/Fairfax transit hub, connecting the downtown corridor to existing bike infrastructure on Adams Boulevard.
The project also includes fresh road resurfacing, new concrete-protected bike lanes, and other improvements that support safer, more comfortable, and more reliable travel.
