Walk ‘n Rollers Totals Up the School Year with Carbon Saved and Calories Burned

Culver City Walk ‘n Rollers is pleased to report they are closing out the school year on a high note. There were increases in walking and biking across the board and especially at the elementary schools where the number of cargo bikes and electric bikes seem to grow each month.

Here some impressive numbers to be proud of. Collectively, Culver city students walked or biked 5061 trips
burned 65,770 calories, and removed 1,452 pounds of carbon from the atmosphere.

In protecting our planet and staving off climate change, walking or biking more is one of the things you can do to make an immediate impact. Reducing consumption, reusing products and recycling materials are important, but when you choose to use alternative transportation – walking, biking, carpool or transit – you make an immediate impact on the environment.

So this summer, lace up those sneaks and pump up those tires for a healthier you and a healthier planet.
