On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 5:00 to 6:30 pm, the Culver City Julian Dixon Library will host a special author talk event featuring, Daniel Weizmann, with his debut novel, The Last Songbird, and Francesca Lia Block, with her latest, House of Hearts. A discussion will be followed by a Q&A.
Daniel Weizmann is a writer and editor, featured in the Los Angeles Times, Billboard, L.A. Reader, and more. Under the nom de plume Shredder, the former rock columnist has also contributed to Flipside Fanzine and he ghostwrote Dee Dee Ramone’s memoir. He will be discussing his debut mystery novel, The Last Songbird.
Francesca Lia Block, M.F.A., has authored over twenty-five books of fiction, non-fiction, short stories, and poetry. She is a recipient of the Spectrum Award, Phoenix Award, ALA Rainbow Award and the 2005 Margaret A. Edwards Lifetime Achievement Award. She is perhaps best known for her Weetzie Bat series.
