While the City of Culver City offers information and resources on rent control and tenant protections, tenants and landlords may find themselves needing tailored assistance unique to their circumstances. The City has a long-time partnership with Bet Tzedek Legal Services that provides Culver City residents with legal advice on landlord and tenant issues. These resources are free of charge, regardless of immigration status, primary language or physical abilities.
Bet Tzedek Legal Services will host a virtual presentation covering the latest in City and State tenant protections on October 25, 2023, at 6 p.m. Tenants will learn more about rent control, eviction protections and more.

The Culver City City Council adopted a permanent Rent Control Ordinance and a permanent Tenant Protections Ordinance on September 29, 2020. Both went into effect on October 30, 2020. Culver City’s Rent Control and Tenant Protections ordinances provide tenants with housing rights, including opportunities for relocation assistance if evicted, buyout agreements in the face of uninhabitable conditions and much more.
