Bowie as Political Philosopher – Wende Museum Oct. 8

This Sunday, October 8, in conjunction with the current exhibition David Bowie in the Soviet Union, the Wende Museum will be hosting the presentation “David Bowie as Political Philosopher: Memory, Capitalism, and Berlin,” by UCLA music scholar Tiffany Naiman.

Naiman will explore David Bowie’s 2013 single “Where Are We Now” as a commentary on post-Cold War Berlin, examining the ways that Bowie used both sonic and visual elements to express complex ideas about memory and the transformative impact of global capitalism on Berlin.
