As a reflection of the actions on Monday night’s Culver City Council meeting, the council is holding a special session today, August 31, 2023, to discuss “price and terms” with retiring gun store owner Dan Retting.
As the meeting is scheduled for closed session only, there will be no opportunity for public comment, and no broadcast of the session. The agenda notes “Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.8”
The code states “a legislative body of a local agency may hold a closed session with its negotiator prior to the purchase, sale, exchange, or lease of real property by or for the local agency to grant authority to its negotiator regarding the price and terms of payment for the purchase, sale, exchange, or lease.”
Update – The City Council closed the meeting at 7 pm on Thursday, August 31 with “Nothing to report from closed session.”
