The holiday spirit was out in full force on Dec. 15, 2022 for the Culver City PTA Backpacks for Kids program families. The District Council PTA noted that they ‘were so grateful to serve 228 students and their families. They received a bag of fresh produce & nonperishable items for a holiday meal, rounded out with a turkey and a pie. They also had winter clothes available to chose from, bags of toiletries, feminine products, stockings, toys and a bit of time with Santa!
This event was entirely made possible by community sponsors the Culver City Exchange Club,Westside Food Bank, BOMA, Culver City Police Department, Culver City YMCA, Culver Closet, CCHS Reproductive Club, WINLa, Tower Insurance and all the generous and thoughtful Individuals who donated to the toy & food drives.
We would like to especially acknowledge Kathy Vigil and Backpacks for Kids Committee for spearheading the event, and a huge thank you to all the volunteers that helped put on the event: Culver City Army recruiting office, CCMS/CCHS students, Parent & Community Volunteers
And a shout out to the CCMS ASB students for packing the bags for our students each week!
