School Board Campaigns Roll Out Endorsements

The November contest for the CCUSD School Board continues to pick up momentum, with more endorsements from both local and area elected officials.

Darrel Menthe has announced that he has the endorsement of retiring CCUSD Board President Dr. Steve Levin. Dr. Levin offered that  “Darrel’s experience in management, in civic affairs, and as a parent, would serve him well on the school board.  His ability to listen and work collaboratively would be an asset to CCUSD in general and to the school board in particular.”

Dr. Levin has also endorsed Summer McBride, making the statement at her campaign kick-off on Sept 3. 2022. “When you have worked with someone for a long time, you know exactly how well they do the job. Summer is an outstanding member of the board, and her keeping her at it will be a big benefit to the schools, and the whole community.”

Triston Ezidore has the backing of Assembly member Isaac Bryan and retiring Los Angeles official Mike Bonin. Bryan boosted Ezidore’s campaign, saying “Triston Ezidore’s dedication to expanding access to a high quality education has been evident since his time as a student leader in Culver City Unified School District. His energizing perspective is empowering and rooted in community service. I am proud to endorse him for Culver City school board.”

Bonin, who is stepping off the LA City Council at the end of this term, offered “Triston Ezidore represents a new generation of progressive leadership. He’s determined to solve problems and make structural change by promoting equity, and empowering the people most affected by decisions. He’ll be a champion for our kids and our schools.”

Stephenie Loredo has been endorsed by both the Culver City Democratic Club and the Westside Young Democrats. Loredo won the backing of the CCDC with more than 80% of the club voting to support her in the race.

With the election less than 60 days away, expect more voices to join in.
