Backpacks for Kids is a Culver City non-profit that makes sure all our CCUSD students have food over the weekend. When economic stress takes a bite out of family resources, our community stepped up to the plate. Backpacks leader Meghan Rawls noted “Thanksgiving event was a big success! We were able to provide our families with fresh vegetables and dry goods for their dinners. Thank you to the Rotary Club whose donation helped [us to] purchased pies, and always to all of our volunteers!”
The Culver Closet – an organization that helps with clothing needs for students and families – were also on hand giving out warm coats and jackets.
