Endorsing Sydney Kamlager for State Senate – Go Vote!

The great thing about democracy is that elections lead to more elections. With former State Senator Holly Mitchell victorious in her race for a seat on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, the contest to fill her Sacramento office is closing tomorrow, March 3, 2021. If you have not already done so, we endorse voting for Sydney Kamlager.

Culver City Crossroads had endorsed Kamlager every time she’s run, and we’ve never had a reason to regret it. That’s big in local politics, where almost 50% of the candidates we endorse end up taking a disappointing stand on one issue or another soon after the win. All politicians know that running for office is one job, and serving that office is another. To say that Kamlager has never broken her word, has never dropped the ball, has never flipped on an issue puts her in a very small percentage.

Kamlager has consistently been on the front lines for equity and fairness. Her work for ‘decarceration’ has been ground breaking, her support for health care and help for the homeless all speak to issues that matter deeply in moving California forward.

She’s a brilliant legislator, a consistent and ethical office holder, and with all of that, she is also famously funny, friendly, and accessible.

Casting a vote to move her up to the State Senate is a win/win. Then we can have another election; that’s why we love democracy.
