Park, Bike, Walk and Talk – CCPD Will Move Towards a More Traditional ‘Beat’

Starting this month CCPD will launch the “Park, Walk, Bike and Talk” Initiative. Officers walking foot beats and riding bikes downtown and in city business districts to promote public safety, deter crime, while actively engaging with our community and developing long lasting partnerships.

“We’re going to get our officers out of cars and we’re going to start talking to our community to find out what we can do to improve the relationship with every segment of our community, while still providing a high-level of public safety and service.” Chief Manny Cid noted,  “Officers in a traditional uniform and in a patrol car can often times be intimidating. Getting our officers on foot and on bikes can serve to humanize our officers to the community and refocus our policing efforts through a community-centered approach.”
