It’s that bright spot in the week – Takeout Tuesday – and our pick for this week was Allegra California Cafe on Sepulveda. They have a menu of delicious delights that run the gamut from breakfast to dinner (and onto dessert!) Take the high road with any of their salads; my favorite is the Culver West Salad with greens, tomatoes, olives, chicken, feta cheese and a perfect sweet-tart honey balsamic dressing. Making a call for comfort food? The pasta is the best! When you can put a dish on the menu as good as Rigatoni Allegra – rigatoni with chicken and mushrooms in a teryaki cream sauce ( just dusted with tangy parsley) it’s one example of the unique and tasty sauces they serve.
Breakfast? Smoked salmon avocado toast. Dinner? Chicken marasla.
Lunch ? Truly, it’s all good; pizzas made to order, and half a dozen grilled panini to choose.
If you are in need of something sweet, the tiramisu is a spoonful of perfection, possibly the best version of this dish on the westside. So call first, and then go pick some up!
