The unexpected rain late in the morning of Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 was accompanied by one power clap of thunder, and a bolt of lightening that struck a power pole at the intersection of Overland and Culver, the Culver City Fire Department was on the scene in moments, and the temporary power outage in the area lasted less than 30 minutes.
The nearby Municipal Plunge was cleared of swimmers as soon as the the rain began to fall, a precautionary measure in any rainstorm. The brief rainfall lasted only a few minutes, and within an hour, only a few clouds were still in evidence.
