Brown Endorses Mitchell in Supervisor Race

Former California Governor, Jerry Brown has endorsed State Senator Holly J. Mitchell in her candidacy to serve on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

Mitchell offered “When I became Chair of the Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Committee in 2017, I had the opportunity to work closely with then Governor Brown in passing two consecutive budgets for the state that totaled $200 billion and restored funding to key county and statewide programs that were hit hardest by the recession.”

“Holly Mitchell has been a real leader on behalf of the people of Los Angeles.” Brown enthused about Mitchell’s legislative strategies and triumphs. “She’s negotiated state budgets, championed criminal justice reform and fought to make government work better for everyone – I’m glad to endorse her for Los Angeles County Supervisor.”

During Brown’s gubernatorial terms between 2011 and 2019, he signed over 65 bills authored or supported by Mitchell into law.
