Music can be one of the most creative and enjoyable aspects of an education, and tonight is one of the doors the the Culver City Unified School District holds open to discover talent, skill and pleasure. Do you have a CCUSD student in fourth or fifth grade that is interested in learning an instrument? La Ballona is the place to be tonight at 6:15 pm. The program will be presented for kids and parents who can pt in to weekly 30-minute instruction on the Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Cornet, Trumpet, Trombone, Violin, Viola, Cello and String Bass.
The district has an inventory of used instruments for any student who needs one, but parents are encouraged to rent or buy an instrument for their child if possible. All new parents will have the opportunity to meet our elementary instrumental music instructor, Mr. Andrew Pascoe.
Parents who attend, will have the opportunity to rent/buy an instrument from approved music store vendors in attendance. While renting or purchasing an instrument from a music store is a popular option that will enable your child to choose and retain his or her own instrument, CCUSD understands this option is not always possible.
The district is committed to working with families to ensure all students that wish to participate in the band and orchestra program will be provided an instrument. The type of instrument provided by the district will be based on district inventory and availability of the equipment.
