City Continues Construction for High Speed Internet Network

south_ringFocused on bringing Culver City into the forefront of the 21st Century, a construction contract has been awarded to HP Communications by the City Council for the City Municipal Fiber Network Project, also known as Culver Connect. This project will provide the necessary infrastructure for high speed Fiber Optic communication systems along three independent rings, North, Central, and South Rings and Ring tie pathways that connect all of the Rings together. The overall project duration is from August 2016 to August 2017.

Work in the particular area (SOUTH RING) is shown on the attached location map. The Project will include the construction of new 2 – 2 inch diameter conduit and installation of Fiber Cable throughout the conduit and ring systems. 4 – 2 inch diameter conduit will be installed on Culver Boulevard, Jefferson Boulevard, Lafayette Place, and Duquesne Avenue in the North and Central Rings and on Bristol Parkway in the South Ring. The Project includes the construction of new handholes (pull boxes) and underground vaults. Typical construction hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional nighttime and weekend work may be necessary at certain locations.
