The Culver City Centennial is kicking off this month with a parade up Culver Boulevard, and according to Parade Coordinator Laura Chardiet, “We are wrapping up our parade participant outreach but if someone still wants to join they can until Sept. 9th.” This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and any group that’s still considering participating should make plans quickly.
Chardiet is enthused and prepared. “We [will] have over 60 groups participating with over 1000 people in the parade…and still counting! These groups consist of vintage cars, marchers, floats and bands. The parade is Saturday, September 24, from 9am to 11am on Culver Blvd between Overland and Lafayette. The best place for viewing will be along the South side of Culver Blvd.”
Folks should know that this is an event the children and youth of Culver City will always remember! Most of the parade participants are children – 700 of them. This parade will be a great family friendly event and a wonderful way for us to celebrate our Culver City history and community.
