The Culver City Garden Club will hold its final regular meeting of the year on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 7:00 P.M. Come explore the ancient art of cordage with Vicki Kahle! Learn how to harvest, process, and twist plant fibers into cordage (string) using milkweed and other plants, then create your own bracelet from milkweed, yucca, flax, dogbane, or raffia.
Vicki Kahle is a Topanga-based artist and teacher specializing in fiber arts. A beloved Mending & Market Seamstress and Sewing Instructor at the Topanga Farmers Market, she shares her handmade creations, offers on-site mending, and teaches private art classes in a variety of mediums while contributing to the canyon community’s rich cultural fabric.
Come and meet the club in the Garden Room in the Veterans’ Memorial Building, 4117 Overland Ave. @ Culver Blvd. The meeting is free and open to all. There are parking lots along Culver and street parking.
There will also be a “Show, Tell & Ask” table, refreshments and a raffle.
