What does the latest data tell us about hate in Los Angeles County—and what can we do about it? Dive into key findings from the 2024 LA County Hate Crime Report, which documented record-high reported hate crimes targeting several communities, including African Americans, LGBTQ+ individuals, Jewish people, Latino/as, Middle Easterners, women, Israelis, Muslims, and Scientologists.
The report also highlights significant increases in hate crimes occurring in schools and incidents connected to conflicts in the Middle East. More than numbers, these findings offer an opportunity to better understand the forces behind hate and learn what practical tools are being used to recognize, respond to, and help dismantle hate in our communities.
