Culver City Adult School presents its second contra dance event, beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 23 in the Farragut Cafetorium at 10820 Farragut Elementary School in Culver City
Contra dancing is a form of American folk dancing that always involves live music and a caller who “calls out” the steps and/or patterns that dancers need to move to the music, down the dance hall, while greeting neighbors in a fun, healthy, community-oriented activity. The event’s mid-evening break will feature root beer floats.

General admission is $12, but in the school’s effort to build this dance community in Culver City, it is offering a $2 discount to Culver City residents, CCUSD employees and Sony employees, with a photo ID. Student and youth discounts are also available.
