The club, as usual, will provide the protein (turkey, ham) and limited soft drinks (no alcohol, please). The members bring all the yummy side dishes and desserts. For all who wish to participate you are asked to bring a wrapped gift for the White Elephant Grab Bag, which is always a good time. They have had some absolutely hilarious gifts, repeats from (sometimes several) previous years!

If you haven’t visited Downtown Culver City since the giant Christmas tree and all the lights have gone up, you’re in for a treat. Strolling Downtown, going to a movie, dinner, or just taking in all the new restaurants and listening to live music at the historic Culver Hotel – it’s Our Town and we’re so proud of it!
And a “tree” that can be seen from miles away is the one that magically lit up last Friday eve – the Veterans’ Memorial Building’s tower!
The Culver City Exchange Club’s Children’s Holiday Party, organized by Xavier Nuques, will be held at 6:00 p.m. this Tuesday, December 8 at the Elks Lodge. Members, their kids, grandkids and neighborhood kids will all enjoy the fun!
Talk about time flying? Candidates for next April’s City Council election have already been holding informal (and a little more fomal) kickoff parties, hoping to snag one of the three open seats. Hats in the ring to date include those of Goran Eriksson, Scott Wyant, Marcus Tiggs and incumbent Meghan Sahli-Wells.
The holiday beat goes on: The Culver City Rotary Club’s Annual Holiday Luncheon will take place this Wednesday December 9th at the American Legion Hall, 5309 So. Sepulveda Blvd. Known for years as the “Bill Winn BBQ Ribs” luncheon, named for the late Rotarian who presided over the grill, the tradition continues but now includes turkey and ham with all the trimmings, complete with salads and desserts. Attendees are urged to bring toys or gift cards that will be collected by members of the U.S. Marine Corps and distributed to Camp Pendleton Marine families. There will be a special raffle, and a no-host bar. To reserve for the event ($25.00 per person), RSVP to Roger Wilson at [email protected] or call him at (310) 301-0076. You can pay at the door, as long as they know you’re coming!
