Lat Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 CCUSD school board candidate Scott McVarish attended the CCUSD Bond Oversight Committee meeting to learn the latest developments in the complex bond expenditure and facility upgrade process. Scott participated in budgetary discussions involving the bidding process for design architects. “We’ve had close to 20 bids. I want to make sure that our Culver City architects are looked at closely because our local talent can compete with anyone,” said McVarish.
Earlier in the day Scott attended the Culver City Chamber of Commerce’s conference on Technology and Creativity in Culver City. At the conference McVarish noted that no one from the school district was on the panel because we haven’t yet embraced innovative technology enough. “Anne Burke and my idea for a Science & Technology Academy at the high school will help our students be prepared for life and work in the 2020s,” stated McVarish.
McVarish & running mate Anne Burke continue talking to voters in their precinct walks and door knocking this weekend. For those wanting a yard sign or to endorse the campaign, McVarish encourages them to go to ForGreatSchools.org
