
In response to the severe drought, West Basin Municipal Water District (West Basin) Board of Directors held its first-ever Drought Town Hall on Saturday, Aug. 15 at the Hollywood Park in Inglewood, Calif. Nearly 60 people attended and heard from a panel of water industry experts that included the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, West Basin Municipal Water District, California Water Service, Golden State Water Company and the city of Inglewood.
Residents received information about the statewide mandate to reduce water consumption, water conservation tips and free water-efficiency devices. West Basin General Manager Rich Nagel and Directors Harold C. Williams, Division I, Gloria D. Gray, Division II, Scott Houston, Division IV, and Donald L. Dear, Division V, also spoke to the audience about the drought and urged them to take advantage of the many free water conservation programs and rebates West Basin offers. Additionally, Mayor of Inglewood James T. Butts spoke about water conservation efforts in Inglewood and welcomed the guests to the city of Inglewood.
