What is a makerspace? Makerspaces, sometimes also referred to as hackerspaces, hackspaces, and fablabs are creative, DIY spaces where people can gather to create, invent, and learn. They often have 3D printers, software, electronics, craft and hardware supplies and tools, and more. The Culver City based US Veterans’ Artists Alliance is opening up a makerspace in San Pedro, and you are invited to the launch.
This Saturday, June 27th from 4 PM to 9 PM for the USVAA Fort MacArthur Makerspace Launch and Fundraising BBQ in San Pedro will premier the makerspace for all to see, Bring your family to visit historic Fort MacArthur, enjoy great food, a beautiful sunset, a wonderful view of the harbor at night, extraordinary entertainment and artwork by veterans and the company of great artists, veterans and friends of USVAA and Angels Gate Cultural Center. All donations are suggested: $25.00 per person. Children $5.00. Family of four: $50.00.

The temperature may be cooler in the evening. Please bring a sweater or jacket. There will be plenty of seating, but feel free to bring folding camp chairs.
