bike1After a long hiatus, Benita Bike’s DanceArt returns to Culver City with an exciting and unique dance performance on June 1, 1:30 pm at Culver City’s Senior Center, 4095 Overland Avenue. This performance is made possible in part by a Culver City Performing Arts Grant with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment. Additional support comes from the Culver City Senior Center. This performance is FREE and suitable for all ages. No reservations are necessary!

Join Benita Bike’s DanceArt in Culver City on June 1, and discover how dances are made and how dance artists train, work, and create. Three concert dances will be performed, and there will be plenty of opportunities for audience members to interact with the artists. Benita Bike’s choreography stands at the crossroads of past and present, blending the music and sensibilities of the past with evocative contemporary movement. Now in its 33rd season, this chamber modern dance company has performed from the California coast to New England and abroad , bringing both concert dance and unique interactive outreach performances to audiences large and small.

Benita Bike’s DanceArt will perform the brand new work “In the Garden,” accompanied by Finnish vocal music, the quirky, humorous “Through the Lens,” and ever popular “Southern Memories,” set to traditional music of the Southern United States.

    Benita Bike’s DanceArt returns to Culver City’s Senior Center with an interactive dance performance on May 3, 1:30 pm. The Culver City Senior Center is located at 4095 Overland Avenue, at the corner of Overland and Culver. This performance is made possible in part by a Culver City Performing Arts Grant with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment. Additional support comes from the Culver City Senior Center. This performance is FREE and suitable for all ages. No reservations are necessary!
    Join Benita Bike’s DanceArt in Culver City on May 3, and discover how dances are made and how dance artists train, work, and create. Three concert dances will be performed, and there will be plenty of opportunities for audience members to interact with the artists. Just back from a tour to Louisville, KY, this 34 year-old company’s work stands at the crossroads of past and present, blending the music and sensibilities of the past with evocative contemporary movement.
    The Company will perform its newest dance work “Renaissance 5,” set to bawdy drinking music of the 15th century. In addition, the five company members will perform water-inspired “Currents and Eddies” and the mysterious “In the Garden,” accompanied by Finnish vocal music.
