Front and Center Theater Collaborative – Online!

fc13-1_300x200The Culver City Education Foundation (CCEF) is excited to announce the launch of the Front & Center Theatre Collaborative website- www.ccusdfrontandcenter.org– and the Collaborative’s new Facebook page.

The Front and Center Theater Collaborative was created in response to the 2008 economic downturn that saw school districts across California cutting their arts programs. Stakeholders from the Culver City Unified School District’s (CCUSD) learning community led by Janice Pober, Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Social Responsibility at Sony Pictures Entertainment and CCEF, were determined to sustain and increase theatre education in CCUSD schools. Today the collaborative includes The Actors’ Gang, Center Theatre Group, We Tell Stories, Young Storytellers Foundation, 24th Street Theatre, The Culver City Education Foundation, the City of Culver City and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Additional support is provided by the Carol and James Collins Foundation, Playa Vista, The Drown Foundation, Fineshriber Family Foundation and Culver City PTA/Booster Clubs.

Each of the Collaborative’s art partners engages our students along four themes: literacy, empathy, respect and engagement. Every student in every K-12 grade of CCUSD schools has the opportunity to explore and experience theatre arts thanks to the Front and Center Theatre Collaborative.

Visit the website to learn more and you’ll see why students, teachers and theatre arts professionals are so excited about this exceptional partnership. And don’t forget to “LIKE” Front and Center Theatre Collaborative. on Facebook.
