Individual Board of Education members have joined District staff and community leaders in holding regular meetings to address a variety of topics related to the District’s master facility planning process.
Three themes have developed for meetings: Education and Engagement; Developing a Master Facility Plan; and Facts, Finances & Timelines. The purpose of these meetings is to ensure our dialogue is open, ongoing and purposeful in addressing the various questions/requests/goals we have developed throughout the process of assessing our District-wide capital needs.
The following meetings are already on the calendar and will be held at the District Office
Facts, Finances and Timelines:
4:45 – 5:45 p.m. on October 22
Master Facility Planning:
8 – 9 a.m. on October 25
Last week, at the Education and Engagement meeting, the group reviewed the Proposed Capital Investments matrix, which included many different proposed projects as sub-components of various capital investment categories and began to explore the ways in which the District can engage and inform the community about the District’s needs.
Future efforts will focus on analyzing current and potential fiscal strategies; developing an informative document that will assist in analyzing and categorizing needs to considering short term goals and timelines for various funding options.
“With each group, our goal is to clarify our current reality, collaboratively process common questions/concerns, and develop action plans for sharing factual information with our community,” said Superintendent Dave LaRose. “We will include key professionals in our discussions, including representatives from our Construction Management Team and our Financial Advisory Team.”
