Here is it post- Labor Day, and the end of summer is in sight, although here in Los Angeles, it will be extended for many weeks. But the transition to fall will occur and the yang to yin cycle continues.
It has been a fruitful summer – a big transition with my daughter moving from NYC to Vietnam in a matter of weeks, and it was a major shift for me, helping her to relocate, finding communication systems that work globally, and going through the final phase of empty nest syndrome with my husband. Our daughter will be 25 this fall, and she is on her own. This fact was something we experienced leisurely, with joy, & now we’re back in transition. How will our life and our goals change in the weeks, months, and years ahead of us — well, we’re working on it.
So this summer I took time off to reflect, to meditate, and to experience the moment and now its time for the next phase. I’m enjoying time as a couple with my husband, and together we’re assessing what we hope to accomplish in the months ahead. There will be lots of joy for us and for you, as I’m looking to find cures for energy blocks (qi blocks) and I’m expanding my Store on my website, www.thejoyoffengshui.com
I have organized amazing amulets, jewelry and crystals to cure person blocks, and in coming weeks I will unveil homemade Japanese ceramics and crystal holder/pouch purses featuring Japanese fabric and textiles, exclusive to clients, tasteful for retailers Gump’s and Neiman. And in coming months I will be traveling to Southeast Asia to continue my personal educational quest regarding meditation, energy and feng shui, to share with the western world.
It’s the Fall Equinox, and my energy is renewed. For those of you who are also looking for change, you don’t have to wait until the new year — you can experience it now. I have been working on personal feng shui – cleaning and cleansing to begin.
Over the weekend I organized our refrigerator – took out what I didn’t need, and placed everything so I could see it –to use our food tastefully and economically. And I did the same with our spice/herb/seasonings drawer. I took out containers, took out what was old, or near empty, and relabeled each container so what was available is visible to the eye instantly.
I’m starting with the kitchen, and will continue to cleanse, to prepare for the yin winter and the holidays ahead.
Transitions happen everyday, and to maximize each occurrence, I urge you to take advantage of the fall equinox, and change the energies in your home – and, on September 28 you can change your personal energies in a profound way.

In gratitude, Janet Mitsui Brown
