Council and Cultural Affairs Salute May as Historical Preservation Month

On Monday, May 13, at the Culver City Council meeting, there will be a proclamation presentation made for Historic Preservation. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.

At the May 14, Culver City Cultural Affairs Commission meeting, City Historian, Julie Lugo Cerra, will offer an illustrative PowerPoint presentation focusing on Culver City’s distinctive historic structures and local efforts in historic preservation. Issues like “Does Historic Preservation Pay?” and “How can we achieve our goals in these difficult economic times?” will offer opportunity for discussion.

Both of these observances are open to the public and all are welcome to attend. They both will take place in the Mike Balkman Council Chambers in Culver City Hall at 9770 Culver Boulevard, 90232. The meetings can also be viewed on culvercity.org or local access television.

The Culver City Archives and Resource Center (ARC) is currently featuring an exhibit the 13 historic sites marked in Culver City.
