(See video) IMG_2860Come cheer on the Culver City High School girls basketball team today as they face Murrieta Valley in the CIF 2A Championship Game at 3:30 p.m. at The Arena at Anaheim Convention Center (800 W Katella Ave., in Anaheim).
The Lady Centaurs edged top-seeded Orange Lutheran 42-40 on Tuesday to up their record to 24-5. They will face the Nighthawks, who moved to 25-5 after a 60-56 overtime victory over No. 6 Redondo Union. Murrieta Valley is the tournament’s No. 2 seed.
The girls will be spurred on with a fabulous pep rally and send off this morning at 10 a.m., featuring local dignitaries and CCHS students.
For those who wish to attend the game, tickets are $13 and $7 and can be purchased at the door. Parking is $12.
LIndsey Farris, the Spirit Team Coach, took the following video of the last plays of the game from a 2 free throw opp by CCHS thru the last 14.5 seconds. CCHS played against #1 seed, Orange Lutheran. The last 1/2 of the game was neck in neck the entire time with a spread of either 2 points or tied. They were tied 38 v. 38; two free throws brought us to 40 CCHS v. 38 OT; they scored a basket to tie up at 40 each with 8 seconds left; then we inbounded with 8 seconds left and scored at the buzzer to take the WIN!
