Crime Blotter – Check Forger Drains Bank Account

Crime Blotter for February 19th through the 25th.
Residential Burglary:
On February 19, 2013 at 12:00 am, officers responded to the 6000 block of Canterbury Drive regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; she left her residence at 4:00 pm and when she returned at 10:30 pm and discovered her living room window was opened and her property missing.
Residential Burglary:
On February 19, 2013 at 7:45 pm, officers responded to the 10700 block of Flaxton Street regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; she locked and secured her residence at 11:15 am and returned at 6:50 pm. When she opened her door she discovered her home was ransacked and her property missing.
Forgery:
On February 23, 2013 at 2:50 pm, a victim came to the police department to report he was a victim of a forgery. The victim said, he had tried to withdraw some cash from his account and discovered the account had insufficient funds. He then went to his local branch and discovered an unknown suspect had forged one of his personal checks and cashed it. The victim said he did not know the name on the check.

Stolen Vehicle:
On February 24, 2013 at 7:00 pm, officers responded to the 6000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard regarding a stolen vehicle investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; he had let his brother barrow his 1993 Honda so he could go to work. His brother parked and locked the car on February 23rd at 7:00 pm and when he returned at 11:30 pm discovered the car missing.
