Culver City Sister City Committee Youth Delegation visits Iksan City, South Korea – The Culver City student delegation and chaperone Donna Thayer leave for Iksan City, South Korea on July 25, 2011. This year’s student representatives are Joe Best, Elizabeth Ferreira, Anum Hossain, Marlee Goldshine, Ahsan Hossain, Aurora Madrigal and Amy Voorhees. During their visit, they will present a gift from Culver City Mayor O’Leary and Council Members on behalf of the City of Culver City and CCSCC to Iksan City Mayor Han Soo Lee. The gift is a watercolor painting of Culver City’s Downtown Plaza by local artist Ziva Reuben. The delegation will return on August 4, 2011.

Culver City Sister City Committee welcomes delegation from Kaizuka, Japan to Culver City – An 11 member student delegation from our sister city of Kaizuka, Japan will arrive on July 29th and depart on August 7, 2011. While here, they will visit various city businesses and departments, Julie Lugo Cerra’s Historical Society, the Artwalk tour, Sony Pictures Studios and the M. Clayton Library & Museum. They will also participate in a class on the greening efforts of both cities. The public is invited to join us in sharing the warmth of our community on July 31, 2011 for a Welcoming Picnic at Syd Kronenthal Park from 11:00 to 3:00 pm. Come meet the students and speak with the adult chaperones from the Kaizuka Board of Education.
