This morning, President Obama signed the repeal of the the military ban on gays into law, setting into motion an end to this discriminatory policy that weakened our military and forced some brave men and women to lie about who they are.
It was a moment for the history books — possible only because the President wasn’t alone in his determination to get this done before the end of the year.
Today is possible because of people like you.
It’s possible because of people like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi — and each and every lawmaker who kept pushing for repeal, even after falling short in vote after vote.
As they wrap up two historic years of work, let’s show them how proud we are to be on their team on a day like today. Go ahead – ask. Even better – tell.
