An exaltation of Brazil’s diverse values, customs and culture, Ballet Folclórico do Brasil shares exuberant dances and music that express the rich blend of African, Portuguese and indigenous influences that shaped this country. The dancers, who have performed in Brazil’s leading national dance companies, foster multicultural awareness in young people through dances such as the inspiring candomble, the exciting congole and the athletic capoeira. The performance is riveting, with explosive movements, vibrant colors and authentic costumes. Ballet Folclórico do Brasil is one of the many artistic programs based at the Brasil Brasil Cultural Center in Culver City.
