In celebration of Earth Day, Elenda Street will be closed on April 22, 2026, providing kids a car-free commute to school. There will be lots of activities for the students, including bike skills zone, fun zone and prizes and giveaways. It’s a great time to rethink your commute to school – try transit, or dropping your kids off a few blocks away. It’s ideal weather for walking or biking, and a great time to start a new habit.
Please plan accordingly; this could be the moment to take the ‘three block challenge’ and drop your students off so they can enjoy the traffic free streets.
If you come via Sepulveda/Braddock, please drop your kids off at Harter or Huron (and exit via Huron). If you come via Overland/Farragut/Franklin, please drop your kids at Coombs (and exit via Coombs). If you come to school via Culver/Elenda, please drop your kids at the paddle tennis courts (and exit via Wagner). Culver CityBus will also be running their usual route that morning and the GoPass is FREE for all CCUSD students.
