Dr. Tony Spano, the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts director, has once again made the list of quarter-finalists for the Music Educator Award. This is his fourth time being nominated for the honor.
CCUSD District Arts Supervisor Heather Moses enthused “We are so lucky to have the passionate and talented Dr. Spano leading our music department…Hi commitment keeps our programs thriving.”
A total of 202 music teachers from 177 cities and 36 states have been announced as quarterfinalists for the Music Educator Award presented by the Recording Academy and Grammy Museum. In total, over 2,100 initial nominations were submitted.
The process will continue in until the awards. Each year, one recipient is selected from ten finalists and recognized for their remarkable impact on students’ lives. The honoree will be flown to Los Angeles to attend the 2027 Grammy Awards and a range of Grammy Week events.
