This July, the Wende Museum’s new weekend series ‘Summer Camp at the Stevie’ invites adults and teens to slow down, connect with nature, and explore hands-on creativity in a garden oasis in the shadow of the Glorya Kaufman Community Center.
Each weekend will feature artist-led craft workshops, from watercolor and incense making to weaving with foraged plants and working with natural dyes.
What is the Stevie? Tucked into a quiet corner of the Wende campus, the Stevie is a “tiny house” turned creative outpost. Surrounded by palms and desert landscaping, it serves as both an artist residency and an intimate venue for experimental programs and gatherings. This special space was made possible by a generous contribution from Steve and Jadwiga Markoff.
Watercolor & Observation with Anne Pearce on Sat & Sun, July 5–6, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Explore the emotional resonance of nature through pigment pools, layered lines, and personal expression. Each session is unique.
