The District Community Arts Team held its final celebratory meeting of the 2023-2024 school year at the Wende Museum. DCAT is the advisory committee that works to move the goals of the CCUSD Strategic Arts Plan forward. The crowd of more than 100 people included students, parents, teachers, administrators, community partners, volunteers, Culver City Council members, CCUSD School Board members and CCUSD Superintendent Dr. Brian Lucas, all of whom believe in and support a robust arts education in CCUSD.
CCUSD K-12 District Arts Coordinator Heather Moses welcomed the crowd and thanked everyone for their participation in and support of DCAT. Attendees were treated to light appetizers, courtesy of the Wende Museum, as well as tours of the current exhibition: “Visions of Transcendence: Creating Space in East and West highlights the resilience and creative power of people deprived of their freedom or their own place to live;” and hardhat tours of the Glorya Kaufman Community Center, which is currently under construction next to the Wende’s garden and will open in late summer as a community resource.
