Amezola Honored as Leader of the Year by LACSTA

Los Angeles County School Trustees Association (LACSTA) honored CCUSD Board of Education member Paula Amezola as its Leader of the Year award winner for 2023-2024 at its annual awards recognition event on May 6. This award recognizes her demonstrated initiative in taking action for the District’s most vulnerable students, including English learners, her determination in passing the resolution for the successful CCUSD bond measure, and her commitment to being an active member of LACSTA by serving on the nomination committee for the executive team.

LACSTA is an organization of school board members created in 1937 by the County Superintendent of Schools. About 90 percent of the 93 school and community college districts in Los Angeles County, as well as the County Board of Education, are members of LACSTA.
