At the Culver City Democratic Club meeting on Dec. 13, 2023, the club members voted on endorsements for the upcoming March Primary Election using the secure and confidential Election Buddy service.
The first round of voting closed at 5 pm Dec. 14 with a required runoff running from then until 5:30 pm Dec. 15 .The club holds a rule that a 60% majority is needed to endorse a candidate, but only a simple majority to support a ballot measure.
The endorsements are:
President: Joe Biden
Senate: Barbara Lee
Congress: Ted Lieu (CD36) and Sydney Kamlager (CD37)
State Assembly: Isaac Bryan
State Measure 1: Yes
County Supervisor: Holly Mitchell
District Attorney: George Gascón
LA County Democratic Party Central Committee (AD55): Leah Pressman, Freddy Puza, and Jeff Schwartz
Culver City School Facilities Bond: Yes
The next meeting in January we will offer a chance to meet candidates and consider endorsements in contests that will not be on the Culver City ballot, as well as judicial endorsements.
