Shoppers at Culver City Pavilions on Jefferson Boulevard took the task to heart on Dec. 2 and 3 this past weekend, filling up grocery bags with donations for the Backpacks for Kids program at CCUSD.
The weekend long food drive brought in over $8000 in groceries that will fill the pantry, keeping students fed over weekends when they might otherwise not have the resources. The volunteer run effort has been giving children at all Culver City schools food since 2013, and will look forward to another semester of service.
Thanks to the generosity of all who donated; it’s never too late to add in support. You can give directly at ccbackpacksforkids.com.
