The Academy of Visual and Performing Arts’ own Dr. Tony Spano will be one of 400 band directors participating in “Saluting America’s Band Directors – Band Directors Marching Band” as part of the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Dr. Spano offered “We are slated to be near the front of the parade, following the big Snoopy balloon. The parade broadcast on NBC will begin at 8:30am local time in all time zones. The Band Directors Marching Band should be on TV by 10 am.” While the exact location of the Band Directors is not yet available, we do know that Dr. Spano will be playing the clarinet, so keep a look out for the woodwinds.
