Rock Musical RENT to Open at Kentwood Players May 12

RENT is a rock musical loosely based on Giacomo Puccini’s 1896 opera La Bohème. It tells the story of a group of impoverished, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural young artists struggling to survive and create a life in Lower Manhattan’s East Village in the thriving days in bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. On Broadway, the musical gained critical acclaim and won several awards, including the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Musical.

Featuring Avery Bebon, Micah K. Blanks, Kyler Bray, Jayla Bryant, Kit DeZolt, Elijah Green, Sara Blanche Hayes, Delaney Holliday, Charles Keppler, Garrett LaSource, Emilie B. Mirvis, Kat Montanez, Jalana Phillips, Logan Rice, Donald Riddle, Julia Sison, Jillian Stern, and Ethan Trejo.

Metro Train riders can now take the K Line to Kentwood, exiting at the Westchester/Veterans station at Florence and Hindry, just a short one block walk from the Westchester Playhouse!
