This Friday, April 7, The Village Well Books & Coffee will be welcoming Culver city’s own Jeff Schwartz He will share about his book, Free Jazz, the first in SUNY Press’ series about Jazz Styles. While many in Culver City know him for his engagement in local politics, Jeff also plays the standup bass, primarily in improvised and experimental music. He has published writing on Free Jazz before, and does his steady day gig at the Santa Monica Public Library, where (among other things) he created and runs the Soundwaves concert series.
