Students at CCUSD can ‘spring’ into creativity with the 2023 Congressional Art Competition. Applications are now open until April 24, 2023. Each year, Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove has the opportunity to select one artist’s work from the 37th District to be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a year with other art competition winners across the country.
For complete information on the Competition, please visit kamlager-dove.house.gov/services/art-competition to find the Rules & Regulations, the Student Information and Release Form, and an Art Submission Checklist.
Last year’s District 37 winner, chosen by then-Congresswoman Karen Bass, is a portrait of Lillian Tsukahira by Remy Tsukahira (pictured here) . Liliian offered “This is a graphite drawing of my grandma T., who is one of my heroes… When she was just a little kid, she and her family were put in internment camps, and today she just has such a positive attitude. I want to make sure that art is always a part of my life.”
