Election Updates – Puza Pulls Ahead to Second, Fisch 11 Votes from Renteria

On Monday afternoon’s election update, the City Council has changed places, with Freddy Puza taking second place from Denice Renteria, and incumbent Alex Fisch only 11 votes behind.

The ballot drop, Monday Nov. 14 at 3:30 pm showed O’Brien still in at the top with 25.66%, holding 5,713 votes, now followed by Puza in second with 22.29 %, at 4,962 votes. Renteria is now in the third slot, with 21.63%, showing 4,815 votes, and Fisch close behind with 21.59%, at 4,806 votes, only 11 votes away from Renteria.

In other contests, Measure BL is now a solid 60% YES to 40% NO, and Measure VY less than 500 votes apart between YES and NO. The measure to allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote in municipal contests is at YES 48.04% showing 5,879 votes, and NO at 51.96 % with 6,358 votes.

The School Board race has added numbers, but no change in position, with the three top place holders staying steady since Election Night; Gurerro, Ezidore and Loredo will almost certainly be certified as winners.

But that’s an ‘almost’ because it’s unknown how many more ballots will be tallied before the election is certified next month.

Breathing is very highly recommended.
