Wende’s “In Search of Truth” to Host Novelist Tom Lin

The next guest in the Wende Museum’s series “In Search of Truth” is author Tom Lin, whose remarkable debut novel “The Thousand Crimes of Ming Tsu” won the 2022 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction. In this book, Lin redefines the genre of the American Western by making a Chinese American railroad worker turned assassin the protagonist of his story, and by combining deeply researched historical accuracy with elements of magical realism. The student council will ask him about framing history, understanding the present through the past, and the power of literature to express truths beyond mere facts.
